Jay Cutler explains why he looked so lazy on Wildcat play

Jay Cutler looked like he didn’t really care all that much about the Wildcat play the Dolphins ran on Sunday, but he’s explained why.

One of the things that we love so much about Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler is that he looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world, and that includes his occupation as NFL quarterback. When it comes to the “IDGAF” expression, Cutler is basically the poster child. This was never more evident to some people than it was in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints.

In the first quarter of the game, head coach Adam Gase decided it was a good time to break out the Wildcat, with Cutler split out and running back Jay Ajayi at quarterback. The play was unsuccessful, but it was one of the more talked about ones from over the weekend mainly because Cutler simply just stood there like a statue, hands on his hips, with seemingly no interest whatsoever.

It was fun to laugh at, yes, but Cutler has an explanation. According to the Palm Beach Post, the veteran signal-caller was simply just doing what he was told to do.

“That’s what they told me to do,” Cutler said. “Sit there. Don’t get hit. Don’t touch anybody. Don’t move.”

So see, Cutler was really just doing his job on the play is all. Sure, it was easy to laugh at him for being his usual, non-caring self, but this time it was by design. The Dolphins have enough issues at the quarterback position as it is, so the last thing they needed was Cutler trying to throw a block or something of that nature, which could have resulted in injury.

Still, though, aren’t we all glad Jay Cutler was brought back into our lives for at least one more year?
