The nightmare is over for the Miami Hurricanes against the Florida State Seminoles, and of course, the losing streak ended in dramatic fashion.

It’s been a long time since the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Florida State Seminoles on the football field. How long, you ask? Well, the Canes have not earned a win over the Noles in the last seven games, creating quite the miserable atmosphere in South Beach recently.

Saturday, though, the No. 13 Hurricanes went to Tallahassee with one of their best teams in recent years to face off against a Seminoles team that is 1-2 on the season. Optimism was very high that the streak would be ended — and that is exactly what happened. Yes, folks, the Miami Hurricanes have defeated the Florida State Seminoles in football once again.

The win did not come without drama, though, as if anything in this rivalry ever does. In the fourth quarter after a late Florida State touchdown that put Miami down 20-17, Miami fans were reluctantly ready to accept yet another loss, making it eight straight. But the players on the field would have none of that, as the Canes drove the field and scored with six seconds left on this pass from Malik Rosier to Darrell Langham.

And with that play right there, the streak has officially come to an end and Miami fans can relish that fact — at least for a year. More importantly, though, Miami is still undefeated on the year with hopes for their first ACC title still intact.

But that’s later in the season. For now, beating the rival Seminoles is all that matters to this Miami fanbase and this will be a win they’ll never forget, surely.

Now everyone can commence speculating whether or not The U is back.
