If you wanted some MACtion on Saturday, then you more than got your fix thanks to Western Michigan and Buffalo.

Look, there is a reason that everyone loves the MAC when it comes to college football. There is a very good reason, indeed, that you instantly fall in love with MACtion, and we were definitely reminded why we love the football this conference puts out on a regular basis on Saturday, with all thanks to Western Michigan and Buffalo.

How crazy was what took place in Buffalo on Saturday? Well, how about they played the longest college football game in 11 years, needing 7 overtimes to make that happen. Yes, you read that correctly … SEVEN!

As much fun as it was watching these two go on this marathon, though, there eventually had to be a winner. That winner was Western Michigan, who came away with the victory after a touchdown run in the seventh overtime. The final score of 71-68 marks the highest-scoring game in FBS history.

Western Michigan running back Jarvion Franklin was the leading rusher for Western Michigan in this absurd contest, rushing for 176 yards and three scores. But no score was more important than the last one which sealed the win in the seventh overtime.

But if you want maybe the most insane stat from this game, you actually have to turn to the losers in this one. While trying to get the historical win, Buffalo quarterback Drew Anderson was phenomenal, going 35-of-61 for 597 yards and seven touchdowns.

And he was the losing quarterback!

This is no ordinary conference, though, Again, this is the MAC, and if you’re looking for normal on a Saturday or sometimes during the week, that is not the place to go at all. But if you want fun and life making no sense whatsoever, then you go find all the MACtion that you can because you’ll get absurdity like we saw in this game.

We love you so much, MACtion.
