Browns tickets feature Joe Haden … of the Steelers

The Cleveland Browns are 0-4 this season, 1-19 since the beginning of 2016 and are putting the picture of a player no longer on their team on their tickets.

The longest-running unintentional comedy in the NFL might still be the reboot of the Cleveland Browns, who have two winning seasons and one playoff appearance since their return in 1999.

It doesn’t help their cause when the Browns do things that just lend to the sit-com atmosphere around the franchise.

This would include tickets for Sunday’s home game against the New York Jets featuring the portrait of cornerback Joe Haden … who was released by the Browns on Aug. 30.

Haden wasn’t unemployed long — the Pittsburgh Steelers signed the seven-year veteran, who was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Browns, the same day he was cut by Cleveland.

Injuries had limited Haden’s effectiveness since his last Pro Bowl selection in 2014 and the Browns opted to release the cornerback and his $11.1 million salary for this season.

That was six weeks ago. While we realize tickets are printed in advance, this is the sort of gaffe that just confirms conventional thinking about the state of the franchise.

Haden has played in all four games for the Steelers this season, with two passes defensed, a sack and 10 tackles. In 90 career games for Cleveland, Haden had 19 interceptions and 100 passes defensed.

He had six picks as a rookie in 2010, four in 2013 and three each in 2012, 2014 and last season.

Cleveland took Haden with the seventh overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft from the University of Florida.

As for the ticket mishap, this isn’t an unheard-of occurrence. Players get released or traded  after season tickets are mailed out and you get a recipe for an embarrassing oops moment.

Throw in the fact it’s the Browns, however, and it comes off as just more of the same.
