Jets get 3rd straight win by topping winless Browns
The Jets and Browns may not have looked like the best matchup on paper, but the two battled on Sunday because the schedule said they had to. Who came out on top?
The New York Jets and Cleveland Browns definitely weren’t the strongest game on paper to watch Sunday, and they basically met everyone’s expectations with their respective performances.
The game went so poorly that it was just 10-7 after the third quarter, Deshone Kizer managed to get pulled as the Browns’ starter and Kevin Hogan somehow managed to succeed as a replacement.
In the end, the Jets pulled out the win in a close game after some solid offensive work from Josh McCown under center, earning a 17-14 victory in the closely contested like many thought it would be.
There weren’t a ton of highlights in the game as far as scoring, but a big story line was Myles Garrett’s success on defense for the Browns in his NFL debut.

Three Stars
1. Josh McCown
Although they were just playing the Browns, Josh McCown had a strong day for the Jets, throwing touchdowns to Jermaine Kearse and Austin Sefarian-Jenkins. He likely could’ve done better considering the opponent he was playing against, but it’s still a solid performance nonetheless.
2. Kevin Hogan
After Deshone Kizer was taken out of the game, Kevin Hogan stepped in under center for the Browns and performed relatively well considering the team’s standards. He threw for his team’s two touchdowns in the game, and at least made it all interesting in the process. At one point, he was even 11-for-12, with his lone incompletion being an interception, and that’s good enough for us.
3. Myles Garrett
The rookie looked solid in his NFL debut for the Browns, even in the loss, as he recorded multiple sacks in the game after recovering from his injury to start the season. Despite their 0-5 record now, the Browns should be hopeful for their defense with how Garrett performed in his debut for the team.
Odds
The game was a pick-em, according to Sportsbook Review, so hopefully you managed to pick the Jets if you put any money down on the lackluster affair.
