With Odell Beckham facing an extended absence, if not out for the season, here are five potential fantasy football replacements for him.

Injuries big and small come each week in the NFL, and thus impact fantasy football. One of the biggest injuries from Week 5, with two games yet to be completed, happened when New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham went down with a severe-looking left leg injury late in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He reportedly has a broken ankle, and will seek a second opinion before possibly (if not likely) undergoing surgery.

So Beckham is at least out for an extended period of time, and a return before the end of the season seems pretty unlikely right now. He had been limited early this season by a preseason left ankle injury, but after missing Week 1 Beckham delivered 25 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns in four games before going down on Sunday.

There’s really no easy way to replace someone like Beckham, who you drafted with a top-5 pick in your fantasy league. But here are five options to fill a now likely to be empty roster spot for the rest of the season, with some hope of filling the void left by Beckham.

5. Marquise Goodwin, San Francisco 49ers

Olympic sprinter-level speed has never really translated to great production on the football field for Goodwin. But he had five receptions (on 11 targets) for 116 yards against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and he has at least five targets in four of five games this season with at least three catches in three of five contests.

If Brian Hoyer is going to keep throwing the ball nearly 39 times per game, or 47.5 times per game as he has the last two games, there’s room for someone besides Pierre Garcon to be fantasy relevant among 49ers wide receivers. There’s no reason that someone else can’t be Goodwin more often than not.
