Ahead of a week of all-ACC matchups, Clemson remains on top of the power rankings before Week 7. Who else moved around behind them?
As if you should expect anything else when it comes to the ACC this season, Clemson took the cake in Week 6 as the conference’s best team as they moved to 6-0 on the year.
The Tigers are looking strong, especially after their win over Wake Forest this past weekend, but it may have come at a cost that could impact the rest of their season. Quarterback Kelly Bryant suffered an ankle injury in the game, and it’ll make things a little more interesting for the next few weeks as Clemson adjusts their offense to deal with whatever comes next for Bryant.
Outside of Clemson, there was a ton of movement throughout the power rankings, with some surprising ACC upsets over the weekend and some great games between some of the best that the conference has to offer.
After an eventful week, here are the power rankings heading into Week 7 of the 2017 college football season in the ACC.

Don’t mind me, I’m just punching myself for giving North Carolina props a couple of weeks ago for at least putting up a fight in their losses.
I’ll own up to the fact that I was apparently very wrong about the Tar Heels a few weeks ago when I had them up around the 10th spot on the power rankings, and I have quickly come to my senses with their placement on the list the last two weeks. They lost in a horrible fashion to Notre Dame in Week 6 with their 33-10 loss to the Fighting Irish, and don’t look like they’ll be improving any time soon.
This may not be the right choice, given who I put at the 12th spot on the list, but the Pittsburgh Panthers are definitely supposed to be towards the bottom of the rankings again in the ACC.
In a game that they could’ve, and very likely should’ve, won against Syracuse in Week 6, the Panthers lost a close one to the Orange 27-24, showed exactly why they deserve to be where they are in the ACC at the moment.
They’ve certainly fallen from their graces since the 2016 campaign, and it’s going to be tough to dig themselves out of this hole that they’ve tripped into in 2017.
