The Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals are slated to play Game 4 of their NLDS on Tuesday, but the start of the game has been delayed.

On Tuesday, the Chicago Cubs could take one step closer toward another World Series title, that is if they can finish off the Washington Nationals. The Cubs are at home in Wrigley Field for Game 4 of the NLDS as they look to add to the playoffs misery of the Nationals to advance.

However, weather doesn’t always cooperate when it comes to sports, no matter how important the game is, and that is what’s taking place on Tuesday. There is some inclement weather in the Chicago area, and all day everyone has been wondering whether or not the game will be played.

The latest update provided to us came from Major League Baseball just past the 5:00 p.m. ET hour, and as it turns out, the weather is being quite annoying here. What we know right now is that the start of NLDS Game 4 between these two NL powers will be delayed a bit as they see what’s going on with the weather.

Now we know that the start of the game is delayed, which naturally leads to questions of when the game will actually begin being played.

At the moment, there is no definitive answer to that start time question just yet. All the officials in the stadium will get with one another around 5:30 p.m. ET to decided what the best course of action here is. There’s a chance the game could be postponed to Wednesday, however, the weather forecast for Wednesday in Chicago isn’t actually all that promising either. So for right now, they’re really stuck in a pickle here.

They will eventually announce when the game will start — be it on Tuesday or Wednesday — and as that info becomes available, we will be sure to keep you updated.
