This is the first full season Sacramento Kings fans will not see DeMarcus Cousins on their roster. How will this roster of youngsters and newcomers fare in 2017-18?

It was a huge surprise when the Sacramento Kings front office made the decision to part ways with one of the NBA’s best big men. They jettisoned the incredibly talented, but frustrating DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans for current Kings savior Buddy Hield, former savior Tyreke Evans, point guard Langston Galloway, and a first and second-round pick in this year’s draft.

Some may have wondered if the Kings should have waited out until the final hours of last year’s trade deadline to get a better deal, but maybe the trade was one of those “blessing in disguise” type of deals.

What Sacramento, which has returned to being an NBA no man’s land after a brief period of relevancy, really got back in return was a sense of peace, and there could be some promise stashed inside of this roster of budding youngsters and father-figure veterans.

Let’s take a look at what the Sacramento Kings roster of 2017-18 holds for the future of a franchise that seems to forever be in-flux.
