The San Francisco 49ers cut All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman, and there are a few teams who could not be happier.

The NaVorro Bowman era has come to an end in San Francisco, but that doesn’t mean the standout linebacker won’t find another home in the NFL.

With some teams looking to fill holes created by injury, and other teams looking to create some depth for a playoff push, Bowman could find a team who wants him sooner rather than later.

NaVorro Bowman can still play at a high level, and one lucky team is going to get him for the rest of the year. According to Pro Football Talk, they may not even have to pay a premium. Bowman’s salary is guaranteed with an offset, meaning his next team can get a discount if they get the deal done for less than his base salary.

There is a ton of interest in Bowman, and here are five teams that could scoop him up after the weekend.

5. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have some good things going for them. They are 3-2 and have only given up 20 points once this season. They have a very good defense, and their offense is doing enough to win some games.

Still, they have some room to get better. They traded away former second-round pick Reggie Ragland before cutting Gerald Hodges. While Bowman is not the best scheme fit, he would likely contribute. The addition of a four-time All-Pro would likely be enough to take the Bills defense over the top, leading them to end the longest active NFL playoff drought.

With Bowman, the team could have one of the best defenses in the league, and when your team is in the same division as the New England Patriots, you need that to be competitive. In addition, with how the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins have struggled on offense so far this year, a strong defense could make the division much less of a threat.

Bowman could make this team a contender which is something that has not happened in over a decade. It certainly is not something fans expected after sending away Ronald Darby and Sammy Watkins earlier this year.
