After yet another blowout loss, change is needed for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. These three coaches can bring them back to their glory days.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers continue to sink to their lowest point as a program. They haven’t seemingly had any glory years for the better part of two decades now and it is clear that a change at the top is needed.

When the fired the athletic director, it became clear that Mike Riley was going to need a miracle to keep his job. While he hasn’t been let go yet, there have been no miracles performed on his part as his program gets manhandled by better competition.

That being said, change is clearly going to be on the horizon. The Cornhuskers are going to make sure they pick the right man for the job and one that can have Nebraska competing among the heavyweight in their conferences. These three coaches could have the potential to take them there.

3. Chad Morris

Everyone loves to bring in a top non-power five option. The next big thing is out there waiting among the smaller programs and that’s where top programs aim to find the latest and greatest coach to lead their program.

Chad Morris is one of those potential options at SMU. He has helped turned the program back into a bowl team and they appear to be well on their way to a successful season in the third year of his tenure.

If Nebraska wants to go for broke and take the chance on potentially landing the next non-power five gem, Morris could be the way to go. Morris would make a lot of sense for Texas A&M, but if Kevin Sumlin is able to hold his job then that eliminates the school as an option.

Of course, Morris could stay at SMU and choose to play the long game and wait for it to open it up. Still, if Nebraska comes calling and is willing to offer him whatever it takes, it would be hard for him to turn the job down.
