The Western Michigan Broncos and Akron Zips had their game postponed because of one ridiculous storm.

Weather delays can be one of the greater pains of sports. Nature can really ruin a game in a hurry and on Saturday, Western Michigan and Akron never even got a chance to begin their game because of rain.

Thanks to a nice little storm that’s been bringing plenty of rain, Waldo Stadium got more than it bargained for. Before the game began, a photo was taken of the field and needless to say, it was hard to point out where exactly the field was.

The entire sidelines and a portion of the field had turned into a lake. That might actually be an understatement as to what actually unfolded because the amount of rain made it nearly impossible to see.

Nonetheless, the game was postponed and moved to Sunday. What will be an even greater miracle is if the field can somehow magically dry up before that game even begins to kick off tomorrow.

Weather has washed out many sporting events in the past and this game is just the latest. Rather than make the same “row the boat” joke that has probably been said endlessly at this point, let us all hope the field will be in playing shape tomorrow.

If any more rain blows through the Kalamazoo area, they might as well just have a fishing contest instead. They’re going to need a lot of towels and fans to get this thing dried up in less than 24 hours.
