The Buccaneers and Cardinals both were in desperate need of a win on Sunday. Who came out on top in their Week 6 matchup in Arizona?

The Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were both falling behind in their divisional races heading into Week 6, and they both were potentially battling for their seasons in Glendale on Sunday.

Although it didn’t help that Jameis Winston got knocked out of the game early, the Cardinals showed up to fight, putting up some serious offense on their way to a 38-33 victory over the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers tried their best to mount a comeback, but it was all for naught.

Highlights

There were a ton of highlights for the Cardinals, and not so many for the Buccaneers, in this Week 6 matchup.

Three Stars

1. Adrian Peterson

Although he wasn’t the biggest factor in the game, and Larry Fitzgerald likely deserves this spot if it were performance-based, Peterson showed that he can still succeed as a starter in the NFL in his debut with the Cardinals and put up some solid first half numbers in the huge win. He finished with two touchdowns on the day, and we’ll see if he can keep up the pace next week.

2. Larry Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald likely could’ve been the top guy if this was just another game for Peterson, but he falls victim to a big debut for the new Cardinals star in the backfield. Fitzgerald put up some huge numbers in the receiving game, registering 10 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals offense to help spark the team.

3. Carson Palmer

Outside of an interception, Palmer was lights out for the Cardinals offensively and kept chucking the ball to Fitzgerald as much as he could throughout the day. He mixed in a touchdown to John Brown and Troy Niklas on the day, and showed that he can still throw like he used to when the Cardinals were an NFC powerhouse a few years ago.

Odds

The game was a pick-em, according to Sportsbook Review, so hopefully, you put your money down on the Cardinals if you decided to gamble on this matchup in the Week 6 slate.

Next Week

The Buccaneers will travel to play the Buffalo Bills to try and get some revenge in the AFC East after their loss to the New England Patriots, while the Cardinals will host their divisional rival, the Los Angeles Rams.
