With Week 7 of the college football season just about in the books, we take a look at a projected top four that we feel would make up the College Football Playoff.

Week 7 of the college football season got started with a bang on Friday night, as two of the top ten teams in the country went down in huge upsets. First, the No. 2 ranked Clemson Tigers went into the Carrier Dome and saw Syracuse come away with an incredible victory. In the process, Clemson not only saw their College Football Playoff hopes take a bit of a stumble but they also may have lost their quarterback Kelly Bryant for some time.

In other top-10 news on Friday, Washington State went into Cal and saw their undefeated record fade away. The Golden Bears throttled Washington State on both sides of the ball, in an upset of epic proportions in the Pac-12. That set us up for Saturday, and while there were no huge upsets during the day’s slate of games, some teams really made their move toward a possible berth in the College Football Playoff.

Like they do every week, Alabama rolled on Saturday, blowing out Arkansas at home. While Penn State had the week off, fellow Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State made easy work of Nebraska. In Big 12 action, the Oklahoma Sooners won the Red River Rivalry and Oklahoma State absolutely pasted Baylor by nearly 40 points.

In the ACC, Louisville was beaten by Boston College and Miami (FL) pulled out a miracle of a victory against Georgia Tech to stay unbeaten. Over in the SEC, LSU beat a ranked team for the second week in a row and are doing their best to help head coach Ed Orgeron keep his job. In all, it was a tremendous weekend of football, but here are the top four teams we like heading into Week 8.
