As one of eight remaining unbeatens in FBS, here are three facts you should know about the UCF Knights.

After a 63-21 win over East Carolina on Saturday, the UCF Knights have won their last three games by at least 27 points. Some of their September games had to be postponed or canceled due to a particularly rough stretch of hurricane season in Florida but second-year head coach Scott Frost’s team is 5-0 with five decisive wins.

UCF is now ranked No. 20 in the country. But amid the more marquee college football programs in Florida, and even fellow AAC member and unbeaten South Florida (6-0), the Knights are surely overlooked.

Looking toward a big game next week on the road against Navy (5-1), here are three facts you need to know about the UCF football team.

3. An Explosive Offense

The Knights’ offense, technically coordinated by former NFL wide receiver Troy Walters but largely credited to Frost, is the top scoring offense in FBS (50.6 points per game) and they are fifth in FBS in total offense (547 yards per game).

Level of competition has to be taken into context with any Group of 5 team. But UCF’s first three wins came against teams that are currently .500 or better (FIU, Maryland and Memphis), before they easily dismissed 2-5 Cincinnati 51-23 and 1-6 East Carolina 63-21 in their last two games.

Bill Connelly of SB Nation took a deeper dive to show how good UCF’s offense has been so far. They are a top-10 offense in the county in both drive efficiency (success rate) and drive finishing (points per trip inside the opponent’s 40-yard line). Regardless of who they’ve played, there aren’t many better offenses in the country than the one that resides on the campus in Orlando.
