The college football recruiting landscape is forever changing and this is what happened in Week 7.

College football had one of the whackiest weeks in recent memory as four top 10 teams went down via upset. Washington State, Auburn, Washington and Clemson all lost in Week 7 and there were a number of others who nearly fell victim to the upset bug.

Did those losses affect each of them in the recruiting landscape? Surprisingly no seeing as the Tigers and Washington State both landed 2018 commits last week.

Let’s take a look at some of the top stories from our weekly recruiting roundup.

Texas lands key cornerback

Tom Herman is recruiting at a high level already and that’s bad news for the rest of the Big 12. Just last week, he landed one of the top cornerbacks in the entire 2018 class. Local four-star prospect D’shawn Jamison from Houston, Texas, picked the Longhorns over about 30 other Power Five programs. He’s ranked the No. 135 player in the class and 18th-best cornerback. He could help bring elite pass defense back to Austin.

Minnesota flips a Wildcat

P.J. Fleck might be struggling to “row the boat” on the field, but in the recruiting-sphere, he has been making splashes. In fact, he landed a former Kentucky Wildcat commit, Alex Reigelsperger, last week to bolster his 2018 class. Reigelsperger, a three-star defensive end from Dayton, Ohio, had just de-committed from Kentucky on Oct. 9 and then took a visit to Minneapolis for the Minnesota vs. Michigan State game on Saturday night. He committed on the spot. Big win for the Golden Gophers.

Kentucky makes up for Minnesota flip

Despite losing Reigelsperger to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Kentucky landed a top wide receiver who was coveted by a number of Big Ten schools. Three-star wide receiver Meechi Harris was being recruited by Minnesota, actually, but picked Kentucky two days before Reigelsperger picked the Gophers. The Xenia, Ohio, native stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 188 pounds with speed to burn. He’s ranked the No. 418 player in the 2018 class.

Auburn lands big defensive tackle

Last, but certainly not least, Auburn had a rough week on the gridiron, but the Tigers were able to come away with a win in the recruiting world. In fact, Gus Malzahn landed one of the top defensive tackles in the classic Coynis Miller from Birmingham, Ala. The four-star tackle stands 6-foot-1.5 and weighs in at about 300 pounds. He committed to the Tigers just one week after a visit to Auburn and two weeks after a trip to Tuscaloosa. He’s ranked the No. 163 overall player in the class and the 15th-best tackle.
