We’re getting ready to see the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. Which team will prevail in this contest?

Back in Week 1 at FedExField, the Philadelphia Eagles sent a message to the rest of the NFC East by snapping a five-game losing streak to the Washington Redskins courtesy of a 30-17 win. Jim Schwartz’s defense made life miserable for quarterback Kirk Cousins, who had three of the team’s four turnovers in the contest.

Now the stage is set for Doug Pederson’s squad to sweep this divisional rivalry for the first time since 2013. The Birds are riding a four-game winning streak and are already 2-0 within their division this season. Meanwhile, the ‘Skins are the only other team in the NFC East currently above .500. It makes for a terrific matchup under the lights in Philadelphia on Monday Night Football.

There may be no team playing better football in the league these days than the Philadelphia Eagles. And to take it a step further, you could make a case that the team’s offensive and defensive lines combined are at the top of their games this year. Pederson’s team is fifth in the league in rushing and number-one in the league in stopping the run. However, the Washington Redskins are no slouches in these departments as well. The loss of defensive end Jonathan Allen certainly hurts Gruden’s defense. But on the other side, the ‘Skins passing attack could present some issues for a Philly secondary that has faced its challenges this season. Look for Cousins and company to cool off the first-place Birds.
