WWE TLC 2017 highlights: The Shield and Kurt Angle vs. Braun Strowman, Kane, The Miz and The Bar

Kurt Angle made his long awaited return to the ring at WWE TLC on Sunday night.

In what has been a whirlwind week, the main event of WWE TLC saw the return of Kurt Angle to action. For the first time in 11 years, the Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist made his return to action inside a WWE ring. Dressed in the same gear as The Shield, Angle and company made their way to the ring as The Miz, The Bar, Braun Strowman and Kane waited.

With the five waiting in the ring, The Shield and Angle surrounded the ring. They immediately rushed in with steel chair in hands and cleared the five men as the crowd in Minneapolis roared on with approval.

Action on the outside carried on with the trio using ladders to their advantage. As Ambrose and Rollins worked on Kane, The Bar would come in for the save attempt. As their advances were fought off, Braun Strowman rushed in to try and knock the trio off balance.

With Kane and Strowman out cold on the two announce tables adjacent to each other, Rollins and Ambrose each ascended to the top of a ladder apiece. Crashing down through both Kane and Strowman, the duo sacrificed their bodies as Kurt Angle watched on.

The big guys were neutralized and the general manager worked from there on taking out the other three. Ambrose and Rollins were still laying on the outside, as The Bar and The Miz began to take advantage of the situation.

Just as The Miz attempted to mock the shield with an attempted powerbomb on Angle, the duo rushed in to make the save. From there, Angle went to work and began german suplexing each of the competitors in vintage fashion.

After locking Kane into the ankle lock, Strowman would rush in to annihilate the general manager. A running powerslam through a table on the outside was display the viciousness of Strowman.

As trainers tended to Angle, the match suddenly became five on two. The two would take shot after shot from the other five men as things began to fall apart. The Hall of Famer would leave the ringside area and the destruction of Ambrose and Rollins continued inside the ring.

Ambrose would be sent through a table in the corner of the ring by Strowman after The Bar sent him bouncing off of it the first time. Suddenly, The Miz would motion for something from the entrance state. A garbage truck would begin to back up into the Target Center.

The five would attempt to place Ambrose and Rollins in the garbage truck, but the duo would climb to the top and fly on top to both of them. With all but The Miz down, the two would chase the lone competitor back to the ring.

With Strowman set to put Ambrose and Rollins away for good, Kane would suddenly attack his partner. He chokeslammed him off the stage as a stunned crowd looked on. With everyone having a puzzled look on their faces, the monster wasn’t done yet. He would pull down the chairs hanging above the stage, sending them crashing down onto Strowman.

Having become a one-man team, Kane continued his reign of terror. He gave a double chokeslam to both Ambrose and Rollins through adjacent tables on the stage. It didn’t last for long, as Strowman awoke from under the chairs and decided to take out his entire team.

The four men would have to band together to take down their own and The Miz, The Bar and Kane would send Strowman into the garbage truck. Back in the ring, Ambrose would break up a pinfall attempt on Rollins.

With the end in sight for Ambrose, Angle’s music would hit to a raucous crowd. He made his way back to the ring fired up and began to take out everyone. Kane would be taken outside ringside by Ambrose and Rollins.

Angle stood by himself in the ring as The Miz ran up and caught him with the skull crushing finale. The Hall of Famer would kick out and attempt to catch him with an ankle lock. As The Miz stood by himself, the trio surrounded him with nowhere to go. Angle called for the triple powerbomb and it would connect as The Shield and Angle picked up the pinfall.
