NBA Power Rankings: Warriors and Cavaliers fall out of the top four
29. Chicago Bulls
The Bulls have had quite the week. Five days ago, Bobby Portis broke Nikola Mirotic’s face and took two of their better players out of the rotation for at least a little while. And their on court product hasn’t been any better.
Through two games, they have an offensive rating of 86.6, the worst mark in the league. In two games — losses to the Spurs and Raptors — it was clear that this is going to be a bad team all year. Games against the Thunder and Cavaliers this week figure to be just as brutal.
The one piece of good news for the Bulls: Lauri Markkanen has been a bright spot. He’s already battled the likes of Serge Ibaka and LaMarcus Aldridge without looking entirely overmatched. His shot isn’t falling, and playing over 35 minutes a night this year is unexpected, but maybe it’s good for him. And what do the Bulls really have to lose?
