NFL quarterback rankings, Week 8: Carson Wentz shines
Dan Fouts Division
8. Ben Roethlisberger (Prev: 10)
Roethlisberger moves up because he showed his old self to be alive against the Bengals on Sunday. The numbers weren’t overwhelming, but Big Ben hit on 14-of-24 for 224 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover. It seems Roethlisberger is beginning to turn a corner.
7. Dak Prescott (Prev: 7)
Prescott absolutely lit up the 49ers with one dime after the next in a 40-10 win on Sunday. The second-year star already has 14 touchdown passes in six games, showcasing growth despite a slower Dez Bryant and a stop-and-start rushing attack.
6. Philip Rivers (Prev: 5)
Rivers is leading the Chargers back into the playoff race after starting the season 0-4. Los Angeles needs Rivers to be at his best, and to this point, he’s been sublime, ranking fourth in yardage (1,816) with a dozen touchdowns.
5. Russell Wilson (Prev: 4)
Wilson is getting virtually no help from his offensive line and yet the Seahawks are 4-2, and Wilson has a 63.6 completion rate. If Seattle could block at all, Wilson would be in the running for MVP on an annual basis.
