Warriors get their swagger back in complete Warrior fashion

The Warriors blew out the Mavericks on Monday, and recaptured their swagger the only way they know how.

The first four games for the NBA defending champs this season have bee somewhat interesting. An opening night home loss to the Rockets put a damper on their ring ceremony, and then Steph Curry threw a temper tantrum in Memphis, and both he and Kevin Durant were ejected.

Before you knew it the Warriors were 1-2, and Draymond Green of all people wanted to talk about guys keeping their composure, and how they can’t be getting ejected from games if they want to win. The Warriors were in Dallas on Monday, and seeing as the Mavericks are in a rebuilding phase this should have been a “get right” game for the Warriors.

It was.

Mavericks rookie Dennis Smith Jr. has a knack for trying to dunk on anyone, and everyone. So you could imagine he wasn’t shy about trying to meet Green at the rim.

Green fouled Smith, but of course wasn’t shy about telling Smith that he wasn’t going to get caught on anybody’s poster anytime soon, and that he was just a boy.

With the game well in hand, Warriors rookie Jordan Bell went ahead and put an emphatic exclamation point on things.

The Warriors would go on to win 133-103, and during the post game handshakes Warriors head coach Steve Kerr tried to apologize to Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle for the Jordan Bell self-lob.

Carlisle wanted no part of that apology, and now Jordan Bell might need to wear some extra protection on his rib cage for their next match up with the Mavs. Guys in the NBA don’t forget things like that.

The Warriors have played three of their four games on the road. They have a string of three straight home games starting Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Expect the Warriors to be back to their blowout ways by the end of the week.
