2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select another QB No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears were another team who was supposed to struggle this season, but based on their play lately, I do not seem many teams that would want to go up against their defense. This past weekend, Chicago put it on Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, holding them without a touchdown. They traded up last year to get their franchise quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky, and while his stats were not great last weekend, he certainly has this team believing they can beat anybody.
If the season ended tomorrow, the Bears would be picking No. 12 overall, so there would still be an opportunity to get an elite player. With that pick, Chicago should look to bring in another edge rusher, as they have seen they can win with their defense alone. Harold Landry from Boston College is a special talent, and had it not been for Arden Key, he would be the best edge rusher in this draft class.
Landry could have been a first-round pick last year, but instead decided to return to Boston College for his senior season. That is proving to be a wide choice, as he has helped the Eagles surprise some teams this season. When it comes time to get to the NFL, he is going to be one of the more pro-ready players in this draft, and on the Bears, he would become a leader up front for a defense on the rise.
