2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select another QB No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Washington Redskins have a ton of questions to answer as they head into next offseason, including whether or not they will bring back quarterback Kirk Cousins. The signal-caller has played under the franchise tag in each of the last two seasons, despite being one of the better players at his position in the conference. If they do bring back Cousins, they need to give him more weapons, including at the wide receiver position.
With their pick in the first round, the Redskins should try to get James Washington, who is an explosive wideout for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Washington has teamed with Mason Rudolph to make the Cowboys relevant in the Big 12, and he would be a perfect fit for the Redskins offense. Cousins likes to throw downfield, and Washington has proven to be a big-play machine during his time with the Cowboys.
This past offseason, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson both left the Redskins, and the team tried to fill that gap by bringing in Terrell Pryor Sr. He is a nice player, but he is never going to be the WR1 that this team is currently lacking. Washington could be that for the Redskins, and if Cousins is to come back to the team, he will likely want to make sure he will have the weapons at his disposal he needs to succeed in a very tough NFC East division.
