3 things we learned from Game 2 of the World Series

Game 2 of the World Series packed in enough action for at least three or four games. The Houston Astros evened the series at 1-1 in a wild affair.

This might have been one of the better baseball games that has been played in the last 20 years. The stakes couldn’t get any higher. Both teams came to play and raised their games even further the longer the game went. The Astros eventually were able to hold on after a George Springer home run gave them a two-run lead in the top of the 11th. Even then, the Astros had to sweat out a victory. Yasiel Puig was up to bat with two outs and could have tied the game with a home run. He wound up striking out to send the series back to Houston all knotted up.

There’s quite a lot to unravel from this game before Game 3 starts up. Momentum swung wildly not only for just this game, but the series overall. This would be drastically different had the Dodgers pulled out a victory. Now the Astros have home field advantage and could realistically not have to go back to Los Angeles. Houston will look to build off of their first World Series victory in franchise history on Friday night. Until then, let’s talk about the big takeaways from Game 2.
