Anquan Boldin is back on the prowl, coming out of retirement

Anquan Boldin is looking to make a comeback to the NFL after retiring in August from the Buffalo Bills.

After signing on with the Buffalo Bills in the offseason, Anquan Boldin looked poised to take the field for his 15th NFL season. Boldin then abruptly retired after the Bills’ second preseason game in August and planned to focus on some of the social injustices that were going on in the world.

Well, Boldin must have realized how much he truly loves the game and decided he’s ready to return to the field. The Bills, of course, still owned his rights after signing a contract with them, but they have given Boldin’s agent permission to begin speaking to teams that may be interested in his services. There are, of course, concerns with Boldin, as he is now 37 years old but he proved last season he can still be an effective player.

He caught 67 passes for 587 yards and scored eight touchdowns last season with the Detroit Lions. Boldin has always been known for his great hands and uncanny ability to create yards after the catch. With over 13,000 career receiving yards and over 1000 receptions, some teams are expected to be interested.

Boldin has also been known for his great leadership and locker room presence throughout his career. It’s great for the game of football to see him want to give it another go, and it will certainly be interesting to see where he may end up. Boldin will presumably want to be able to play for a contender, where he will have a shot at winning his first Super Bowl. We will pass along more updates on the situation as they come along, and kudos to the Bills for allowing Boldin to explore this opportunity.
