College football picks: Week 9 FanSided expert predictions
We’re picking winners from the five biggest college football games of the week. Check out our college football picks and win some money.
It’s that time again where we go out on a limb and risk putting ourselves on Freezing Cold Takes with our predictions and picks for the biggest college football games this weekend. Last weekend, we were so close to picking the upset of the week as Texas took Oklahoma State to overtime but an interception in the end zone on third down ended the Longhorns upset bid.
But when you’re picking winners, there’s no partial credit for almost picking the upset or getting to overtime and losing closely. Other than that, we nailed wins for UCF over Navy, Penn State over Michigan and Notre Dame over USC.
This week, we’ll try to go a perfect five-for-five, and this week presents a loaded slate of games. The only downside is four of the five best games of the week all start at the same time. This is the weekend that calls for two or three-TV set up because there’s too much good football happening at the same time that you don’t want to miss.

After picking Oklahoma State to lose to Texas last week, Jack is doubling down on the Pokes losing. He can sense it and West Virginia presents an offense that can match Mason Rudolph and James Washington score-for-score. Expect this game to be a shootout with the winner topping 40 points.
I’m glad we disagreed on the biggest game of the week. Jack is going with the road team with Penn State looking to make it two straight against the Buckeyes. Last year, the Nittany Lions returned a blocked field goal for the game-winning touchdown. The return gave Penn State the win and eventually, they won the Big Ten. But it was Ohio State that took the berth in the College Football Playoff, leaving Penn State on the outside looking in and a Rose Bowl consolation prize. This is the extremely rare double revenge game and count us both in as those who absolutely can’t wait to see what happens.
Overall Record: Schmidt 28-12, Jorgensen 24-16
