Week 9 had a pair of huge upsets with the TCU Horned Frogs and the Penn State Nittany Lions both falling, which will shake up the college football rankings.

Well, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will have some things to figure out in the first week of their college football rankings for 2017. Sure, the committee knows that the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs will make an appearance in the initial top four.

However, the same cannot be said for the No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions and the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs because they lost this week. TCU would fall first to the No. 25 Iowa State Cyclones in Ames, 14-7. Penn State would come up just short to the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus by a point, 39-38.

While the committee could go in any number of ways on Tuesday night, here is what the top 10 of the AP Top 25 Poll could look like heading into Week 10. Who would be the playoff teams at this cross-section of the season?

* Still to play in Week 9

Alabama would stay at No. 1 coming off its bye. Georgia would move up to No. 2 from No. 3 after steamrolling the arch rival Florida Gators down in Jacksonville. Undefeated Wisconsin would move up from No. 5 to No. 3. Moving in to No. 4 would be Ohio State, as the Buckeyes climb up a few spots from No. 6.

The Clemson Tigers would be the first team out at No. 5. That all hinges on their cross-divisional rivalry game with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets yet to be played. Penn State stumbles from No. 2 to No. 6 after their one-point loss in The Horseshoe.

Undefeated Miami would move up a spot from No. 8 to No. 7, with the Virginia Tech Hokies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish left on the slate. How is this team still undefeated? They almost lost to the awful North Carolina Tar Heels.

Notre Dame moves up a spot from No. 9 to No. 8. TCU will stumble all the way to No. 9 after losing by a touchdown to Iowa State on Saturday. The Oklahoma Sooners would stay at No. 10 assuming they knock off the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 play. If they bulldoze Texas Tech, they might leapfrog TCU and be the No. 9 team.
