2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets get their quarterback in the first round
By Brad Weiss
The Minnesota Vikings have been battling the injury bug all season long, but they have also managed to stay in the win column. If the season ended tomorrow, the Vikings would win the NFC North, and would do so with Case Keenum as their starting quarterback. They have also lost star rooking running back Dalvin Cook for the season, so the fact that they keep winning is a true testament to head Coach Mike Zimmer for keeping the team together.
With their first round pick in April, the Vikings will likely be picking towards the end of the first round. With that pick, the team should look to continue to build up the defensive line, and Da’Shawn Hand from Alabama would be a nice selection this late in round one. Hand has the ability to play in the middle of the defensive line at the next level, and has been an anchor for an Alabama defense that has been a dynasty since he has been in school.
The NFC North is still wide open, and there is a chance that both the Packers and Lions could sneak up and grab the division. However, we like the Vikings to stay right in first, and while they will likely lose in a Wildcard matchup, they are trending in the right direction. If they can put together another solid draft in 2018, they could wind up being the favorites in the division heading into next season, which is a big statement considering Aaron Rodgers will be back for the Pack.
