When entering FanDuel NFL contests for Week 9, here’s a lineup to think about deploying to cash in.

Before I shift to Week 9 with my FanDuel lineup, let’s do an accountability session for Week 8.

Quarterback: Carson Wentz-18.14 points
Running Backs: Le’Veon Bell-13.1 points, Joe Mixon-10.4 points
Wide Receivers: Keenan Allen-8.1 points, Amari Cooper-7.7 points, Mohamed Sanu-16.4 points
Tight End: Jason Witten-4.6 points
Kicker: Wil Lutz-10 points
Defense: Cincinnati Bengals-14 points

There’s not a lot to note here, from a decidedly mediocre showing all-around. Bell, Mixon, Allen and Witten all disappointed to some degree, and Wentz simply underachieved.

To keep up with all of FanSided’s DFS NFL coverage head over to the fantasy football hub where each week you can find a post like this tailored for DraftKings as well as one specifically designed for usage on FanDuel. In this post, all salary and “fantasy points” references are to FanDuel scoring system (unless otherwise noted) and salaries. If you have any additional questions or thoughts or are looking for updates as we approach kickoff, follow @FanSidedFantasy on Twitter or tweet me @bradberreman24.

Without further ado, here is my FanDuel lineup for Week 9. As usual, I’m using this lineup in a contest this week (Sunday-Monday).

Quarterback: Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams-$7,600

Goff went into a Week 8 bye with zero or one passing touchdown in three straight games, though he did save his fantasy day (19.7 FanDuel points) with a rushing touchdown in Week 7. A road trip to take on the New York Giants is coming this week, but it’s not as daunting a matchup as it may seem at a glance.

Heading into their own Week 8 bye, the Giants allowed over 330 passing yards and/or multiple passing touchdowns in four straight games. Overall this season, they’ve allowed 19.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (ESPN scoring; tied for fifth-most). Now No. 1 cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been suspended for at least Week 9, after being late coming back from the bye week.

With Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers on a bye this week to thin the upper tier, it’s worth going to the bargain basket at quarterback on FanDuel. Traveling cross-country is never easy, but Goff is hard to dismiss based on that.
