After a wild Week 10, how might the latest top 25 rankings shake out?

The college football rankings have fluctuated for the past few weeks, with top teams falling and new ones rising. However, after the first College Football Playoff Rankings were revealed, it changed the game for everyone.

Georgia entered Week 10 as the No. 1 team, the first time it claimed this spot in the 2017 season. The Bulldogs succeeded, too, winning to likely remain at the top. No. 2 Alabama walked out victorious, as well, defeating the ranked LSU Tigers.

Outside of them, Penn State and Ohio State lost. How far will they fall after each school’s second loss of the season?

Let’s find all of this out in the projected rankings for Week 11.

No. 25: Iowa

Iowa arrives in the college football rankings after a thrashing of Ohio State. It was the most surprising result of Week 10, knocking off a team that was on the cusp of the College Football Playoff scene. Another ranked team is on the way, however, with a game at Wisconsin. Will the Hawkeyes hold up?

No. 24: Iowa State

After looking like college football’s underdogs, Iowa State fell back to earth in Week 10. The loss to West Virginia damages its chances at the Big 12 Championship Game, as Oklahoma and TCU trend up. The Cyclones, given their two marquee wins, won’t move out of the rankings but will be on thin ice in Week 11.

No. 23: NC State

NC State takes a fall after losing to Notre Dame, but not a significant one. It should remain in the top 25, barring the committee favoring an unranked school. Plus, the loss to Clemson was by just seven points, so look for the Wolfpack to stay ranked.

No. 22: West Virginia

West Virginia continues to see-saw in the rankings. One week, the Mountaineers defeat a ranked team and moved in. The next week, they fall to a team and drop out. For Week 10, it was a win over the surging Iowa State Cyclones, which almost certainly moves WVU into the 20s. Will they remain after Week 11?

No. 21: LSU

LSU played No. 2 Alabama in Week 10 and lost. Since the Crimson Tide were ranked so high, it should keep the Tigers in the top 25, with a spot just outside the top 20. Games against Arkansas, Tennessee and Texas A&M remain for the Tigers, who will fight to be one of the top teams in the nation.
