LiAngelo Ball is reportedly among three UCLA players that were arrested in China for shoplifting.

The UCLA Bruins, much like others around the country, will open up their 2017-18 college basketball season on Friday. They’ll be doing so overseas in Shanghai, China, when they take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets of the ACC. A few days before the Bruins will play that opener, though, there’s apparently some drama surrounding freshmen on this year’s team — including LiAngelo Ball.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, Ball was recently among three Bruins players that were arrested for shoplifting in China as they get set for the opener. At this point, there are no other details other than the arrests were made and Ball was one of them.

Of course, the surname Ball should stick out to a lot of people. If there is anyone out there that doesn’t know, LiAngelo Ball is the middle son of LaVar Ball. While not regarded as good of a basketball player as his older brother, current Los Angeles Lakers star and former UCLA standout Lonzo, nor little brother LaMelo, Ball was still awarded a scholarship to play for UCLA this year.

The Ball family shot to fame with the rise of Lonzo at UCLA last season during his only year with the program, and then things skyrocketed to a controversial stratosphere when father LaVar made a name for himself with his brash comments on a consistent basis. Since then, they’ve almost become the Kardashian family of the sports world, in a way.

As more details become available about the arrests made involving LiAngelo and the other freshmen on the team, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, we will keep you updated.

UCLA opens up this Friday against Georgia Tech in Shanghai, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN at 11:30 p.m. ET.
