Black Bolt and Maximus look to end their decades-long family feud, whether or not the rest of Attilan is affected, in the season finale of Marvel’s Inhumans.

After a rocky first seven episodes, which included some good and some very bad moments, the season finale of Marvel’s Inhumans has finally arrived.

The Royal Family finally returned from their vacation to Hawaii, looking to resolve things diplomatically with Maximus. That lasted for all of 10 seconds, since his true intention of undergoing a second Terrigenesis, while using Evan Declan, remained. Things turned violent in a hurry, but just as Black Bolt was about to kill his brother, he revealed he had a failsafe ready to activate that would bring down the rest of Attilan.

Here’s the synopsis for “And Finally … Black Bolt”, according to TV Guide:

"Season 1 finale: The final showdown occurs between Black Bolt and Maximus, and it takes an unexpected turn, resulting in lasting consequences for all of Inhumanity."

Black Bolt and Maximus have enough problems to sort out on their own. Just imagine what’ll happen when they find out that Gorgon is alive. He was brought back to life when Karnak put him in a Terrigenesis chamber and used Auran’s DNA that allows her to heal from her injuries. However, he looks like a loose cannon at worst and unstable at best, meaning that Maximus could be the least of the Royal Family’s problems.

We’ve gotten the backstory of the main characters at various points throughout the season. That has allowed us to understand the motives a bit better, such as why Maximus is so hellbent on being King. It’s possible that we haven’t gotten the whole story, and that there’s something about the Royal Family that the writers aren’t telling us.

Anyone who has stuck with Inhumans to this point has likely been entertained by it. The finale promises to have a ton of action, but whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen.
