The Los Angeles Lakers erased a double-digit deficit to beat the Washington Wizards on Oct. 25. However, they have been inconsistent since that home victory. Lonzo Ball continues to struggle shooting the ball. The rookie out of UCLA is averaging 8.8 points per game on 29.9 percent shooting from the field. Conversely, Kyle Kuzma is the rookie making the biggest impact on the team thus far. Kuzma is the second-leading scorer on the Lakers with 15.4 points per game. Additionally, the Lakers have six more double-figure scorers. Los Angeles still have plenty of room for growth, but their outlook is increasingly brighter.

Surprisingly, Washington is the middle of a slide. The Wizards have gone just 2-4 since losing to the Lakers two weeks ago. They have lost home games to the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. The Suns and Mavericks are a combined 6-17 on the season. Washington is scoring with relative ease, but cannot get stops on the other end. Specifically, they rank 20th in the NBA in defensive rating. The Wizards only impressive win thus far came against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 5.
