Liverpool F.C.

, Professional Soccer

Founded in 1892, the Liverpool Football Club has been a dominant figure in the sport of soccer since its inception. Located in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, Liverpool plays in the Premier League, which is a top flight league. Currently, Liverpool has the English record for European Cups with five, and have also won three UEFA titles, and 18 league titles. Quite an extraordinary run for this incredible football club.

Liverpool plays at Anfield, which is one of the more legendary fields in all of professional soccer. They have become not only one of the more dominant clubs in soccer, but also one of the more lucrative, as they consistently finish in the top-10 in the world in earnings. They have a huge fan base, and their rivalries currently consist of Manchester United and Everton. Their theme song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” has become the rallying cry for the franchise.

Incredibly, Liverpool is actually owned by Fenway Sports Group, which is the same group that owns the Boston Red Sox. Of all the English teams out there, and there are some special ones, Liverpool has the most top flights in total. They also have the most points, which is a testament to how good this club has been for so long. There has been lots of winning coming out of that Fenway Sports Group over the last 20 years or so.
