College Football Picks Against The Spread Early November 11, 2017

My college football pick em points were down to an all time low of 25 last week. Thankfully the spread picks have been doing a little better this year! Through ten weeks, I am at 283-255 with a net total of 67 betting points. Let’s add to that!

More from College Football Odds

For those of you that are new here, I put myself out there every week. For the last six years, I have picked every single college football game. Sounds easy, right? I thought so too. So I have picked them all against the spread. That significantly increases the degree of difficulty.

I take the average of the odds from the six major Vegas casinos and round that to the nearest half point. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.

Some site will sell you top ten picks for a fee. Some will even give you a couple of free picks to lure you in. This is every game picked, all for free.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions, significant others, or limbs to a loan shark. This is for entertainment purposes only! I am a simple person. I cannot have that on my conscience.

We have the biggest week of college football so far this season. There is another 60 game slate this week, but UMass is slumming at the FCS level. That still leaves us 59 FBS vs. FBS games. 15 of those kick off before 3:30 eastern. Let’s get our Saturday started right!

(12)Michigan State at (13)Ohio State(-16.5)(4): Yeah, this is too many. The Spartans may not win this outright, but that defense is plenty good enough to keep them from getting blown out. Give me Michigan State.

Rutgers at (14)Penn State(-30.5)(2): This looks high. Rutgers has played pretty good football lately. They are going to get smoked, but more like by 21 instead of 31. Give me Rutgers.

(15)Oklahoma State(-6.5) at (21)Iowa State(3): I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I have never seen anything like this. The line opened with the Cyclones favored by 10.5. It has swung a full 17 points! It has swung too far the other way. I picked Iowa State in Pick Em, and I still like them straight up.

Connecticut at (18)Central Florida(-40.5)(5): Huh? This is way too many! The Huskies have busted three of the last four spreads, and UCF didn’t even cover this against the Governors of Austin Peay. Don’t get me wrong. The Huskies will get blown out. However, they wont lose by near this many, even with Bryant Shirreffs out. I’m thinking 28 points or so.

(23)North Carolina State(-2.5) at Boston College(3): I expect a really good game here. Boston College is tough at home, but the Wolfpack aren’t going to beat themselves the way Florida State did. I see NC State winning a close one. Like four points or so.

Arkansas at (24)LSU(-17.5)(4): Need I remind you that Arkansas nearly lost at home to a first year FBS team? I know this is a rivalry and all that, but there is a huge talent gap here. LSU wins BIG!

Duke(-3.5) at Army(2): I don’t really think that Duke can win this on the road. Army shut out Air Force last week without throwing a pass. They are going to take the air out of the ball. Duke will get impatient and make a huge mistake. Give me Army.

Texas Tech(-8.5) at Baylor(2): I’m a little confused as to why this line is climbing. Baylor looked pretty good in Lawrence. Then again, they got blasted by Texas the week before. Still, at some point Baylor is going to turn this around. This looks like a good opportunity at home against a team that lost a heartbreaker last week and has stumbled to the finish in recent years. Give me Baylor. Not to win, but I think they keep this close.

Louisiana at Mississippi(-20.5)(2): This is a lot of points for a team without their starting quarterback. That said, Ole Miss is still a SEC team. Hawaiian import Jordan Ta’amu had a huge game against Kentucky. Give me Ole Miss.

Florida at South Carolina(-5.5)(5): The Gators were flat out terrible last week. Even the defense got torn apart by Missouri. I don’t expect as poor of a showing here, but I still think they lose by double digits. Give me South Carolina.

Indiana(-9.5) at Illinois(4): Regardless of whether Ramsey plays or not, this game wont really be close. Illinois is terrible right now. Give me the Hoosiers.

Nebraska at Minnesota(-2.5)(1): This is going to be an ugly game. Neither team is very good right now. I tend to think that maybe Minnesota is better, but I don’t know. It’s a toss up. Nebraska is more talented, but that hasn’t meant anything lately. I’ll take the Gophers, but there is no way I would bet this.

(17)Virginia Tech(-3.5) at Georgia Tech(4): I took the half in the NC State game, so I’ll give it here. Both games opened at -3 and haven’t budged. I know the Hokies looked awful last week, but that is all the product of the Miami defense. I see Tech bouncing back in a big way here. Give me the Hokies.

Middle Tennessee State(-13.5) at Charlotte(2): Well, the Blue Raiders just steamrolled a similarly horrid UTEP team last week, so I’ll take MTSU.

Wake Forest at Syracuse(EVEN)(2): This is going to be a really good game, and I really hope that its on in my area. The Orange are really tough at home, but John Wolford is a really good quarterback. I’ll take Wake. I’m not sure Syracuse can stop them. They put up 30 on a good Irish defense!
