DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10

GLENDALE, AZ - OCTOBER 15: Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick
GLENDALE, AZ - OCTOBER 15: Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays is back for Week 10. This is a fantasy football column dedicated to providing value plays with high upside to help you cash in on big prizes in DraftKings tournaments.

Welcome to Week 10 of DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays. Here you’ll find a handful of players from each position who are underpriced and poised to outperform their salary. These bargain plays are ideal candidates when constructing your lineups for DraftKings GPPs.

Week 10 has a Main Slate of 11 games now that bye weeks are in play. There are plenty of tournaments offering large top prizes. Make sure to secure a spot in the NFL Fantasy Football Millionaire and the Fantasy Football World Championship Qualifier.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays is a resource for evaluating players with the best chance of finishing the week with a high fantasy points per dollar performance. Not every pick is meant to be used in the same lineup. Use this column to select one or two bargain plays, which allow you to pay up for higher priced stars.

DraftKings has done a great job of pricing players this week, which greatly decreases the amount of value plays and good ones at that. Note that when you’re building your rosters this week there aren’t going to be too many spots to comfortably save money.

Let’s check out some bargain play quarterbacks.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10 – Quarterbacks

Andy Dalton ($5,300) vs. TEN

Dalton has excelled in favorable matchups and has been held in check in difficult ones. He faces the Titans who haven’t been great in defending the pass this season. Dalton is volatile when it comes to fantasy production, making him a an ideal tournament play. He has four score upside and the Bengals rushing game hasn’t been very impressive. In Dalton’s last three favorable matchups, he’s put up 18, 18 and 29 DraftKings points. I think we can expect the same for him again this Sunday.

Eli Manning ($5,100) vs. SF

The Giants have been awful this year and appears that there’s no sign of change. This is good for fantasy as the Giants will be trailing or close in about every game. Eli has a nice matchup against the 49ers who are ranked 27th in DVOA against the pass. At the end of the day, Eli is still Eli. He can bomb with the best of them, but could be a great GPP play at low ownership.

Ryan Fitzpatrick ($4,900) vs. NYJ

Jameis Winston will be sidelined for a few weeks, so it’s time to fire up Fitzpatrick. He can throw six touchdowns one week, but turn around and throw six picks the next. It’s a revenge game for Fitzpatrick against a shaky Jets pass defense. He’ll be without Mike Evans, but I don’t think it hurts his upside at this price. Fitzpatrick is a scrappy veteran who can put up numbers through the air and on the ground.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10 – Running Backs

Orleans Darkwa ($4,500) vs. SF

Just as the 49ers defense hasn’t been able to stop the pass, they’ve struggled against the run as well. Darkwa has taken over the lead back spot in New York and has shown flashes of solid fantasy production. This game is expected to stay close and have a high pace of play, which should give Darkwa plenty of touches.

Bilal Powell ($4,000) vs. TB

Powell will be the chalk value play at running back this week. Matt Forte has been ruled out, which means an uptick in touches for Powell. When Forte missed Week 5, Powell finished with 163 rushing yards and a score for 32 DraftKings points. Powell will also see an increase in targets out of the backfield and the Buccaneers rank 29th against pass catching backs. Powell is a lock for value for me on this slate.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10 – Wide Receivers

DeSean Jackson ($4,900) vs. NYJ

If you’re going to roster Fitzpatrick, Jackson is a viable stack option. He’ll see an increase in target share with Evans suspended this week. Winston has been inconsistent with the deep ball this season, which has capped Jackson’s ceiling. Fitzpatrick is a gunslinger, so Jackson will still have opportunities to cash in on a deep ball.

Martavis Bryant ($3,900) vs. IND

There’s been plenty of drama surrounding Bryant over the past few weeks, so rostering him is an extremely risky play. Mike Tomlin has said that they plan to use Bryant this week to create more big plays. It’s hard to trust coach-speak, but at this price for Bryant’s talent and big play ability, it’s a play that could break the slate.

Chris Godwin ($3,000) vs. NYJ

If you want a contrarian stack for Fitzpatrick, Godwin is your guy. There should be a decent amount of interest in DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries, but Godwin will get his first chance at playing in an every-down role. At minimum price, Godwin only needs one big play to hit tournament value. Rostering Godwin opens up a lot of cash to spend on studs.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10 – Tight Ends

Eric Ebron ($3,100) vs. CLE

Ebron hasn’t played well this season and his numbers reflect that. However, the Browns rank 30th in DVOA against the tight end. The Lions run game has struggled while Matthew Stafford continues throw the ball nearly 38 times per game. Rostering Ebron will make you feel uneasy, but for $3,100 a touchdown alone will hit value.

Garrett Celek ($2,500) vs. NYG

The 49ers offense hasn’t done much with C.J. Beathard under center. Now that they’ve lost Pierre Garcon for the season and George Kittle this week, Celek should be in line for more looks. He’s the minimum price for tight ends and could be the perfect safety valve for Beathard. The Giants have allowed 508 yards and eight touchdowns to opposing tight ends this year.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 10 – Defense

Bears ($3,000) vs. GB

Brett Hundley has looked afraid on the field this season. The Packers offense have completely stalled since Aaron Rodgers was put on IR. The Bears are five point favorites, which means the Packers should be playing from behind. The more Hundley has to throw, the better it is for the Bears defense. For $3,000, the Bears have plenty of upside to be a great tournament play.
