The Georgia Bulldogs will put their No. 1 ranking on the line when they visit the rival No. 10 Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon in one of the best SEC matchups of the season.
After turning in a somewhat disappointing 8-5 campaign in Kirby Smart’s debut season, the Bulldogs are atop the College Football Playoff rankings with a perfect mark of 9-0 this year. The Bulldogs have been blowing out the competition in SEC play, and are boosted by a signature win at No. 3 Notre Dame back on Sep. 9.
Georgia has found success through balance on both sides of the ball, with the dynamic backfield duo of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel leading the way offensively. Opponents are averaging just 11.7 points per game against the Bulldogs, as linebackers, Roquan Smith and Lorenzo Carter are in the Butkus Award hunt.

Many are overlooking Auburn after looking shaky in losses to Clemson and LSU earlier in the season, but the Tigers are quietly ranked No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings with a record of 7-2. Auburn was impressive in a 42-27 win at Texas A&M last weekend and will be glad to head back to Jordan-Hare after three straight games on the road.
The Tigers have one the best scoring defenses in the country at 16.9 points per game allowed, led by terrific linebacker duo Deshaun Davis and Tre’ Williams. While Gus Malzahn’s offense fell apart in both losses, it still has a ton of talent behind quarterback Jarrett Stidham and prolific running back Kerryon Johnson, who has 15 touchdowns on the year.

Odds Shark lists the Bulldogs as a narrow 2.5-point favorite on the road, with the over/under set at 47. As impressive as Georgia has looked, this will be its toughest challenge since taking down Notre Dame over two months ago.
