Ohio State fans took their creativity up a notch against Michigan State when they replaced the “I” in their chant with Apple’s iOS 11 glitch.

Ohio State’s much anticipated Week 11 matchup with Michigan State turned into a rout quickly. After the Buckeyes got off to a 14-0 first quarter lead, they never looked back. Their defense racked up the turnovers, and their offense was humming along at peak efficiency en route to a 35-3 lead at halftime.

A great time was had by all of their fans in attendance. And even in what has been an up-and-down season for Ohio State, their fanbase has remained as passionate as ever. Of course, when dealing with a team that’s had over 100 years of tradition, the one constant will always be the fanbase. But against Michigan State, they broke from that tradition for one brief moment.

One of the Buckeyes’ most notable cheers is when all four sides of the Horseshoe chant O-H-I-O. But when it came time to get to the “I”, the fans held up a sign that will look familiar to anyone that updated their iPhone to iOS 11:

If there’s any group of fans more passionate than Ohio State’s, it might be Apple fans. These are the people that have collected every iPhone since its first release, and line up outside the Apple Store for every new model.

In their minds, the iPhone can do no wrong, and every other smartphone is inferior. However, even this “I” glitch has gotten on their nerves. Auto-correct is consistently one of the most frustrating issues with iPhones, but this might be their worst bug yet. After all, how hard can it be to just display a regular “I?”

By the looks of it, though, Apple’s new update seems to have fixed the issue. Ohio State fans will like to think their trolling prompted them to fix it, but the update was released two days ago.
