The Denver Broncos will play host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in a matchup of two teams destined to be on the outside looking in at the playoffs.

When the season started, many believed that both the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals would be possible playoff teams. In fact, the Broncos actually looked really strong early on, but have fallen on some hard times as of late. They are a mess at the quarterback position, and will once again turn to Brock Osweiler to try and get them in the win column on Sunday.

Osweiler has been limited in practice this week, with Paxton Lynch getting the bulk of the reps. Lynch was promoted to the No. 2 quarterback behind Osweiler, moving past Trevor Siemian, who beat him out for the starting job this summer. It has been that kind of year in Denver, but there could be a silver lining, as maybe Lynch will finally get healthy enough to try to be the team’s future at the position going forward.

For Cincinnati, this has been a forgettable year, and it may actually cost head coach Marvin Lewis his job. Lewis has not won a playoff game in all the years he has been the head coach in Cincy, and the organization may want to consider moving in another direction. This team is undisciplined, and for a roster loaded with so much talent, they have really been a disappointment through the first ten weeks of the NFL season.

Odds

Line: Denver Broncos (-2.5)

Over/Under: 39.5

The Broncos are actually favorites in this game, giving 2.5 points, despite the fact they have been one of the worst teams in football in recent weeks. The over/under is set at 39.5 points, which makes sense considering points will be at a premium in this one. This line will change a lot throughout the week, so head on over to OddsShark.com for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction

Denver will see their sorry season continue on the downhill slide, as the Bengals will come away with the road win on Sunday. There are just too many questions for Denver on offense, and the Bengals do have some veteran talent on their team. This one is going to be very bad football, with the Bengals winning outright despite coming into the game as the underdog.

Final Score: Bengals 17 Broncos 14
