Baker Mayfield hit the Kansas sideline with a little NSFW gesture on Saturday after they angered him by not shaking his hand.

Coming into Week 12 of the college football season, you really wouldn’t have thought the Big 12 game between the Oklahoma Sooners and Kansa Jayhawks could provide any sort of talking points in what is a down week on paper. But, once again we were reminded that whenever Baker Mayfield is involved in anything, there’s always a chance you’re gonna get something to talk about — good or bad.

The Mayfield drama all started Saturday when, prior to the game, the Kansas captains refused to shake the Oklahoma quarterback’s hand when he extended it. OK, that was probably a really dumb move, and Mayfield laughed it off as he prepared to do some nasty things to their defense. Really, this was nothing negative for Baker. If anything, the Kansas players were on the negative side of things here.

But then, in the third quarter, Mayfield just had to go out and make himself look bad again. After throwing a touchdown pass, clearly still irked about being disrespected before the game even started, Mayfield sent the Kansas sideline a very NSFW message and it was caught on camera.

You couldn’t just take the high road here, could you, Baker?

All jokes aside, this is another terrible look for the character of Mayfield, and of course, we’re headed for him having to make yet another apology. While he’s the most exciting player in college football, Mayfield just keeps reminding people that he has some growing up to do, which isn’t a good thing seeing as he’s a fifth-year senior.

You also really do have to wonder whether or not the pile of antics and subsequent apologies will do any damage to his Heisman chances in a few weeks. You know that a lot of voters might be getting just a bit fed up.
