With Week 13 of the college football season in the books, we take a look at what the College Football Playoff might look like if the season ended today.

Week 13 of the college football season was an incredible one, as we saw the No. 1 team in the country get beaten in the Iron Bowl. Alabama came into the game as the favorites, but the Auburn Tigers are playing on another level right now. In the last three weeks, they have beaten two No. 1 teams, and have clinched their spot in the SEC Championship Game with their win against the Crimson Tide on Saturday.

Over in the Big Ten, Wisconsin wrapped up a perfect regular season against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, setting up a Big Ten Championship Game against the Ohio State Buckeyes, who beat the Michigan Wolverines in the Big House. Baker Mayfield led the Oklahoma Sooners to a blowout win against West Virginia, and will now set their sights on the newly formed Big 12 title game next weekend.

Of the top four teams in the recent College Football Playoff rankings, two lost, which shows how touch-and-go this ranking can be. With conference title games on tap next weekend, you can be sure the College Football Playoff will look different than the four teams they announce on Tuesday. This college football season has been full of excitement, and we seem to be peaking at the right time, as we head into conference championship and bowl season.

After Clemson beat the South Carolina Gamecocks in the primetime game, it is clear they control their own destiny. As we look towards the conference championships, let’s take a look at what the College Football Playoff might look like if the season ended today.
