Loser: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 8 down to No. 15)

If you’re a Notre Dame fan, you have to be almost sick to your stomach after watching how the last few weeks have played out.

First, Notre Dame traveled to Miami for a huge game with playoff implications and the Hurricanes came away with a 41-8 win. Next, the Irish hosted Navy and won in ugly fashion. Now, Notre Dame is coming off a tough loss to Stanford on the road in which the Irish allowed 21 fourth-quarter points in the span of four minutes after leading 20-17.

While Brandon Wimbush threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns, he was wildly erratic and was just 11-for-28 through the air with two interceptions as well. He looked shaky late in the game and was rattled when he threw that first pick.

The Irish went from near-locks to make the playoff to now outside of the top 10 in the AP Top 5, looking in. This is still a successful season given that the Irish went just 4-8 last year, but Brian Kelly isn’t pleased with how the regular season ended.
