Rashaan Evans

LB, Alabama

Even in a rare loss, Rashaan Evans still finds him near the top of the stat sheet for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Iron Bowl proved to be the end of the 24 straight victories that the program had in the SEC.

Evans finished the evening with nine tackles, one tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry. He had a rather unique personal foul call during the game when he took off Jarrett Stidham’s helmet after a tackle.

It’s not often a helmet comes off because someone physically took it off, but that’s what happened. Other than that, it was a game that many expected from Evans, even despite the loss on the field.

He sets the tone for the defense each week and although they didn’t get the job done this week, there’s a real chance that he along with the rest of his teammates will bounce back stronger if they do indeed end up making the College Football Playoff.

Tarvarus McFadden

CB, Florida State

Tarvarus McFadden did earn a second-team All-ACC nod this season. However, everyone was expecting quite a bit more out of him and that can probably be said of the whole program as well, to say the least.

McFadden didn’t have the great statistical season people were expecting from him. The shutdown cornerback seemed at times as if he was ready for what’s next and that might have impacted his draft stock.

He struggled at times on punt returns and that played a role in some change as well. Still, it’s hard to deny that he is a talented cornerback and perhaps motivated or in the right fit, he can become everything that is expected.

He had two passes defensed in the win over Florida and will likely get two more games to showcase what he can do. He has the size and tools that teams are looking for when drafting a cornerback.
