49ers at Bears: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears will play host to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday inside Soldier Field, as they look to get a win in front of their home fans.
Prior to the trade deadline, the San Francisco 49ers swung a deal with the New England Patriots to get quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Since then, Garoppolo has only appeared in one game, which was last weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. On Sunday, he will make his first start as a 49er against the Chicago Bears, as the team gets a full look at a player they hope is their future at the quarterback position.
For Chicago, they come into this game on a losing slide, and will be looking to get right in front of their home fans. Rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has looked good at times, even leading the team to near comeback victories in the fourth quarter, but has yet to have his signature moment. He is going to be a solid NFL quarterback, and against a one-win 49ers team, he should be able to make some big plays on Sunday.
Garoppolo is going to make the 49ers better, and Carlos Hyde is always a dangerous weapon out of the backfield. San Francisco only wanted to go to Jimmy G because of an injury, so when C.J. Beathard was hurt last weekend, it took until Tuesday for them to name Garoppolo the starter. He threw a touchdowns pass after coming in with 1:07 left to play in the game against the Seahawks, which happened to be the 49ers only touchdown of the day.
Odds
Line: Chicago Bears (-3.0)
Over/Under: 41.0
The Bears will be home favorites in this one, as the 49ers come into this game with only one win on the season. The over/under is set at 41.0 points, which makes sense considering these two offenses have issues putting up points. This line will change a lot throughout the week, so head on over to OddsShark.com for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction
The Bears buckle down and pull out a win in front of their home fans on Sunday, as Trubisky makes enough plays to beat the San Francisco defense. Jimmy G will have the 49ers playing it close the whole way, but Chicago will find a way to kick a game-winning field goal late in the fourth quarter to come away with their fourth win of the season.
Final Score: Bears 20, 49ers 17
