2. Alex Smith has wheels

When you think of mobile NFL quarterbacks, Alex Smith isn’t one that comes to mind. That might have to change after today. Midway through the second quarter, Smith felt pressure in the pocket and took off. Usually, we see quarterbacks go about five or six yards and slide but Smith had other ideas. He outran the Jets defense for a 70-yard gain.

I can guarantee you we will never see that kind of run from Smith again. Oddly enough, that game featured plenty of quarterback runs. Jets quarterback Josh McCown ran for two touchdowns on the day because that’s what we expected going into the game.

Even with a loss, Smith has to be proud of his wheels today.

1. Tarik Cohen isn’t human

The San Francisco 49ers will know better next time, don’t punt the ball to Tarik Cohen. Nicknamed “The Human Joystick” from his highlights at North Carolina A&T, Cohen has had a fantastic rookie season. He took the punt from Bradley Pinion and made the entire Niners special teams unit look silly. Cohen ran backward, switched directions and still scored. It was like a play straight out of Madden.

Cohen has done everything for the Bears this season. With the touchdown he became the first rookie since 1965 to have a punt return, rushing, receiving and passing touchdown all in the same season. That’s pretty incredible and it looks like Cohen will be making opposing team’s look silly for a very long time.
