The final College Football Playoff Rankings of 2017 were revealed. Who slotted in the top four spots?

After 13 weeks and one Conference Championship Weekend, the 2017 college football regular season concluded. This was the last chance for teams to make their case for the College Football Playoff, with nothing certain headed into Saturday morning.

As for Sunday, the teams who won their respective conference championship games eyed a spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings reveal. Alabama will potentially be the only other school, with a chance at making the top four. It didn’t play in the SEC Championship Game after losing to Auburn in Week 13.

At 12:00 p.m. ET, the College Football Playoff Rankings were revealed. From No. 25 to 1, everyone’s fate was determined. Who entered the top four? Which teams barely made the cut?

No surprise there, at least with three of the four teams. Clemson, Oklahoma and Georgia all won its respective conference championship game, earning them a spot in the top four. This cast little-to-no controversy about their fates, while the same couldn’t be said for No. 4.

The final spot was down to Alabama vs. Ohio State. Despite not making the SEC Championship Game, it was the Crimson Tide that earned No. 4. The Buckeyes missed at No. 5, while Wisconsin dropped to No. 6. This will be the topic of discussion, as the committee included a non-conference champion for the second consecutive year. However, it was a nod to the one-loss team (Alabama) over the two-loss team (Ohio State).
