We’re getting ready to see the Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants square off at MetLife Stadium. Which team will prevail in this contest?

Back in Week 1 on a Sunday night at AT&T Stadium, the top two teams in the NFC East in 2016 squared off. The defending division champion Dallas Cowboys stifled Eli Manning and the New York Giants, 19-3.

It’s safe to say a few things have changed since then. And as all 32 NFL teams prepare for the final four weeks of this tumultuous season, it’s ironic to note that two clubs that finished 13-3 (Cowboys) and 11-5 (Giants) a year ago have both already lost exactly twice as many games as each did in 2016.

That’s extremely bad news for Steve Spagnuolo’s team. The new head coach has a 2-10 team that has already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Boys still has postseason aspirations but need to build on their 38-14 Thursday night victory over the Redskins from a week ago.

Odds

Line: Cowboys (-4.5)

Over/Under: 41.5

Dallas is a 4.5-point favorite (courtesy of OddsShark) to sweep Big Blue for the first time since 2014. In the past three meetings between the clubs dating back to last season, we have seen the Cowboys and Giants combine for 39, 17 and 22 points, respectively.

Neither the Dallas Cowboys nor New York Giants are wowing anyone with their defensive prowess these days. In fact, the G-Men have allowed the most total yards and most rushing yards in the league. That should make it easy for the Dallas ground game to enjoy success. Still, Spagnuolo has some talented cornerbacks at his disposal and that could be the difference in this game. And you can look for a fired-up Eli Manning to come up with a big effort now that he’s back where he belongs.

Pick: Giants 23, Cowboys 21
