The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon in Week 14, 30-24. Here are all the highlights, the game recap and final score.

In what was a quiet first half in Duval County sure turned into something spectacular in the second half. Though they got a late push that made it too close for comfort, the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to hold off a late charge from Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks., winning 30-24.

Jacksonville improves to 9-4 on the season, while Seattle falls to 8-5. This win, coupled with the Tennessee Titans’ road loss to the Arizona Cardinals, puts the Jaguars in first place all by themselves atop the AFC South standings. Seattle falls out of playoff position with this loss. Keep in mind that the Atlanta Falcons have the head-to-head tiebreaker to take control of the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

The Jaguars were able to pick off Wilson three times in the ball game. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey had one in the back of the end zone near halftime. His defensive back teammate A.J. Bouye would have the other two for the Jaguars. However, the Jaguars defense would fade down the stretch.

Wilson was able to make three ridiculous touchdown passes to make this a ball game. One to Doug Baldwin near the red zone and two over 60 yards immediately after Jaguars scores. The first would be to Paul Richardson, the next to Tyler Lockett.

Surprisingly, it was the Jaguars secondary that almost cost the team in this game in the fourth quarter. However, Jacksonville got great production out of quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Leonard Fournette all afternoon. Though essentially a game manager, Bortles completed 18 of 27 passes for 268 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Fournette would be the bell-cow back that Jacksonville needed to get the victory. He rushed for over 100 yards and had a cool touchdown celebration where we weren’t sure if his offensive linemen were playing kickball or were bowling pins.

Overall, this win gives the Jaguars a winning season and cements them as a lock to make the AFC playoffs. Barring a collapse, they should win the AFC South division title and host a playoff game at EverBank Field. As for the Seahawks, they might not make the NFC playoffs, even if they win 10 games this season. To say the conferences aren’t balanced would be an understatement.

Three Stars

  1. A.J. Bouye: Bouye had three pass breakups, two interceptions and two tackles.
  2. Blake Bortles: Bortles completed 18 of 27 passes for 268 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
  3. Leonard Fournette: Fournette had 24 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown. He also had four catches for 18 yards.
