LeBron James absolutely cursed the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns were about to win their first game of the season, then LeBron started tweeting about it.

For most of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, it looked like the Cleveland Browns were going to win. That’s significant because the Browns haven’t won on a Sunday since 2015 when Johnny Manziel was the quarterback.

Cleveland can’t blame Manziel for the loss, but a finger can be pointed at LeBron James. If you believe in superstition or regularly wear a tinfoil hat but not for fashion (and maybe if you do), then you probably think that LeBron cursed the Browns.

It wasn’t until LeBron started tweeting about the Browns that the team started to fall apart in a late-game loss.

LeBron was live tweeting the final moments of the Browns game, where he thought he’d be celebrating the teams’ first win of the season. Instead, he perfectly summarized what it’s like to be a fan of a team that has made an art form out of breaking your heart.

The first tweet came with the Browns up 21-14 with just under two minutes left in the game. Green Bay had the ball, but Bret Hundley was still the quarterback. All Cleveland needed to do was make one final stop and the game was won.

After this tweet, the wheels started coming off for Cleveland. Green Bay marched down the field and scored a game-tying touchdown with just seconds left.

The game went to overtime, where DeShone Kizer threw one of the worst interceptions you’ll ever see.

That was gross.

Kizer’s interception gave the Packers a chance to go down the field an ultimately win the game with a touchdown to Davonte Adams. LeBron was not impressed, but this was probably all his fault so he reaps what he sows.

Hopefully, the bad luck vibe that LeBron has when it comes to Cleveland sports is confined to just the Browns and Indians. The Cavaliers don’t need that bad karma working against them.

Then again, LeBron is a Cowboys fan so we can’t be surprised that the Football Gods weren’t pleased with the bandwagoning.
