Arden Key

Edge, LSU

The Chicago Bears pulled off a nice victory this past Sunday, as they went into Cincinnati and beat the Bengals by the score of 33-7. The most impressive part of that win was the fact that the organization saw some great things from rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears traded up one spot to ensure they could get Trubisky in the 2017 NFL Draft, and the hope is he can be the franchise quarterback they have not had in a long time.

While Trubisky played well on Sunday, he has been wildly inconsistent this season, and the team will likely find themselves picking pretty early in the 2018 NFL Draft. With that pick, they should look to bring in some depth on the defensive line, and Arden Key from LSU is a great pick at No. 7. Like Bradley Chubb, Key is an explosive edge rusher, and has the build to be a standout player in the NFL for years to come.

Key went through some injury issues this season, but that should not affect his draft status heading into next April. He has an incredible motor, and if the Bears are ever going to be a contender in the NFC North, they need to be able to consistently get to the likes of Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers. Key would give them an elite pass rusher on the outside, and with the development of Trubisky, this team may be trending in the right direction before too long.
